Boundary Singularities of Faber and Fourier Series
Given an analytic Jordan curve with interior G and exterior and given a sequence of complex numbers fang n satisfying lim sup n janj n we consider here three series of the form f z X n anPn z where the polynomials Pn z are chosen to be i the Faber polynomials associated with G ii the polynomials orthogonal over the area of G and iii the polynomials orthogonal over the contour Here we study the ...
متن کاملDiagonalization and Rationalization of Algebraic Laurent Series
— We prove a quantitative version of a result of Furstenberg [20] and Deligne [13] stating that the the diagonal of a multivariate algebraic power series with coefficients in a field of positive characteristic is algebraic. As a consequence, we obtain that for every prime p the reduction modulo p of the diagonal of a multivariate algebraic power series f with integer coefficients is an algebrai...
متن کاملA Faber Series Approach to Cardinal Interpolation
For a compactly supported function <p in Rd we study quasiinterpolants based on point evaluations at the integer lattice. We restrict ourselves to the case where the coefficient sequence Xf, for given data /, is computed by applying a univariate polynomial q to the sequence <p\Zd , and then convolving with the data f\Z(¡ . Such operators appear in the well-known Neumann series formulation of qu...
متن کاملNumber Systems and Tilings over Laurent Series
Let F be a field and F[x, y] the ring of polynomials in two variables over F. Let f ∈ F[x, y] and consider the residue class ring R := F[x, y]/fF[x, y]. Our first aim is to study digit representations in R, i.e., we ask for which f each element r ∈ R admits a digit representation of the form d0 + d1x + · · · + d`x with digits di ∈ F[y] satisfying degy di < degy f . These digit systems are motiv...
متن کاملInverse polynomial expansions of Laurent series, II
An algorithm is considered, and shown to lead to various unusual and unique series expansions of formal Laurent series, as the sums of reciprocals of polynomials. The degrees of approximation by the rational functions which are the partial sums of these series are investigated. The types of series corresponding to rational functions themselves are also partially characterized.
